How long does a sculpture last?
Depending on its size and where it is displayed, a typical one-block sculpture lasts between six and eight hours. Exposure to direct sunlight increases the melting. Fine details on a sculpture change during the function, usually lasting two to three hours into a party.
What size is a sculpture?
Most sculptures are out of one block, with dimensions of 40 inches tall, 20 inches across and 11 inches thick. A finished sculpture weighs between 180 and 240 pounds. Some sculptures are taller than 40 inches, made by cutting and stacking the block to give the sculpture additional height.
What does the sculptures drain into?
We deliver the sculptures with drip trays, either mirrored ice glow trays or clear acrylic trays. Both types of trays have tubes which drain water into a bucket under the table. Sculptures usually drain a gallon of water per hour.
What kind of lighting is used?
Our mirrored ice glow trays have lights inside, which illuminate the sculpture from beneath. The acrylic trays do not have lights, but clamp-on lights can be attached to the table to illuminate the sculpture from behind. For special effects, different colored light bulbs can be used, i.e. a green bulb to light up a holiday wreath.
Where are the sculptures carved?
All sculptures are hand-carved to order at our studio, and then stored in one of our walk-in freezers. They are then delivered to the function in one of our customized delivery trucks. Sculptures are either delivered to your walk-in freezer, or delivered approximately 1 1/2 hours prior to the event start time.
How are sculptures delivered without melting?
All sculptures are stored in our freezers prior to delivery. When loading up for delivery, each sculpture wrapped in heavy-duty stretch wrap to insulate it from the elements. It is then delivered in one of our climate-controlled trucks or freezer trucks, allowing your sculpture to arrive with minimal melt-age.
